Cancellation Policy

We kindly ask that you cancel any unwanted appointments at least 48 hours before your scheduled appointment time.

A full 48-hours notice needs to be given prior to your appointment. If this is after the salon working hours please leave us a message through our social media or email vicky@burlingtonshair.co.uk to give us the best possible chance of filling this space.

If you do not cancel within the 48 hours as stated above, a cancellation fee will be payable and the amount to be paid will be based on a percentage of the service that was booked.  In addition to the cancellation fee a £50 non-refundable, non-transferable deposit will be required prior to any further bookings.

If late notification or non-cancellation happens on more than one occasion you will be expected to pay for the full amount of the missed appointment.

For Makeup by Miac a 50% non-refundable deposit is required prior to any bookings of makeup, lashes or brow services.  Full payment is then taken following your appointment creating a rolling deposit into each following appointment.

At Burlingtons Hair Salon we pride ourselves on looking after our clients.  This is why when you come to the salon for a hair appointment we will always protect your clothing with a small, disposable towel at the nape of the neck, a black washable gown; finished off with a disposable towel fastened with a clip to the front.  This is to protect your clothing from any colour stain.

While the team make every effort to ensure that no colour transfer goes onto your clothing, sometimes accidents happen.  We kindly ask that when you come into salon for colourwork you are mindful of what you wear, how you move around in salon and if you feel that you are not protected by the gown and towels you tell a member of the team immediately.

We would advise against high neck lines and collars, and we would ask that you do not wear expensive clothing while having your hair coloured.


At Burlingtons we really want you to LOVE your hair and to make sure we get you booked in for the right service and to enable transparency with our pricing it might be necessary for you to come to the salon for a 15-minute consultation. Time slots for complimentary consultations are available with our stylists most days.

Gift Vouchers

No refunds will be given for gift voucher purchases. Gift vouchers are not redeemable for cash. Gift vouchers are valid for 12 months from the purchase date. Gift vouchers are redeemable in the salon only, against products and services. See additional information below:

  • Vouchers are valid for 12 months from purchase and cannot be used after that date.
  • Vouchers cannot be replaced if lost, stolen or destroyed.
  • Vouchers cannot be refunded or exchanged for cash or other denominated vouchers.
  • If an intended purchase is for a higher amount than the face value of the voucher(s), the difference can be made up with a credit card/cash payment. If it is less, then change cannot be given.
  • Vouchers can only be redeemed in salon (18 Burlington Street, S40 1RR).
  • Vouchers are redeemable against all hair services and hair products sold in the salon.

Skin Testing

If a skin test is required for your colour appointment and you fail to have one done,  we will have no choice but to cancel your appointment. Skin tests must be carried out at least 48 hours before your appointment.

We insist on following the rules and regulations of the manufacturers that supply our colour and products for your own safety and well-being. It is very rare for a reaction to occur but if it does it can be very severe and can even cause hospitalisation – this is a risk that we are not willing to take.

Service Satisfaction

If after your appointment you are not satisfied with your service, we ask you to please contact the salon within 7 days of that service.  We would like every opportunity to meet and exceed your expectations, as we value you as a client. If you have simply changed your mind or if you return after the 7 days, normal charges will apply.

If you have altered or attempted to alter your hair colour or cut by yourself or by a third party this guarantee becomes null and void.
